Come n Try

Come along to any weekend paddling session, say "Hi" and join us for a paddle.
Your first three weekends are free. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to get wet, work with a team and have fun. (See below for more details).

Come and Try paddlers will need to read and sign a waiver form - please turn up a bit earlier on the day of your first paddling session to get this done.  You should have some some overall general fitness and not have any significant medical concerns. Our coaches will advise you on how to paddle and where best to sit you in the boat with a "buddy".

You can come along and try on a Saturday or a Sunday at 6.15am sign-on, and finishing around 8.00am.

If you cannot swim 100 metres with clothes on, or comfortably tread water for 10 minutes, you must wear a Personal Flotation Device (PFD). The club can lend you one for the session. Paddles are also provided.

What to bring and wear:

  • Comfortable clothing (you may get a little wet)

  • Water bottle

  • Sunglasses and sun screen

  • Hat

  • Shoes suitable to get wet

  • Fingerless sports gloves if you have them but not absolutely necessary. We have a box of gloves at the club house that is likely to have a pair that fits you.

After your three free Come and Try weekends, we'd love you to join RSD (Redlands Sea Dragons). If you are interested in joining us and becoming a RSD member, contact one of come and try co-ordinators. Please have a look at the  "Join Us" page for membership costs.

Call one of our friendly Come & Try coordinators (be aware they may be at work so leave a message):

Weekend paddling sessions are followed by coffee and a chat at the Pelican Cafe Redland Bay.

So where are we? Moores Road, Redland Bay
