History of the Club
Thank you to Amelia McDonald, Ewan McDonald, Loretta Lewis and Rob Lewis for their mentoring and support during our beginnings.
We completed building 3 dragon boats in 2008 with the help of our first grant and any money we could lay our hands on nearly sent us broke. 1000s of voluntary manhours from club members, family and friends.
In 2009 we also built a 10 metre long dragon lantern for the Redlands Spring Festival. We were the first organisation/business to build their own lantern.
As part of our local community, our club entered and raised monies for the Cancer Council Relay for Life, 3 years in a row.
We are known for our warm welcome to all and the camaraderie we share. We cater to those who want to compete at regattas and those who come for the fitness/social aspect.

State Results
We have entered every State Regatta since 2007 and have won gold, silver and bronze medals over the years.

National Results
The first time our club competed in the Nationals was in Melbourne 2012, when Bill Sigley was our coach. We had a 10 mixed crew and a womens’ 10 crew.
We also completed at the Nationals in Brisbane in 2017.
Although not able to send a team to Nationals every year, we have had a number of members try out and make the Queensland team each year.

International Results
Gary Acworth represented Australia at Worlds in Prague and his team won a bronze medal in 2009.
