Organised by the Hakka Association of Queensland, this event involves up to 25 dragon boat teams, both professional and amateur. It not only shows a display of hardwork and determination from teams, but also provides a spectacle of dragon boat racing for the public.

The event has free entertainment and hosts food stalls that offer a variety of delicious and culturally diverse cuisines. Multicultural backgrounds of performers at the event have included Hakkanese, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Filipino, Japanese, Indian, South Sea Islanders, Taiwanese, Chinese, Indo-Chinese and Australian. The event is a celebration of culture and sport and aims to promote friendship and community
