Dragon Boat Queensland welcomes clubs to the Coast to Coast Dragon Boat Festival 2021 to be held at Lake Kawana, Bokarina on the Sunshine Coast from 7 – 9 May 2021. After the challenges COVID has presented Dragon Boating not only in Australia but the world, the Coast to Coast event is a great opportunity for Australian and New Zealand clubs to come competitive and fun event.

RSD members, register if you are interested. The club is looking at paying the entrance fees. The Club is asking for early registrations so that we can plan our attendance at this event.

Coast to Coast Festival Update
Entries close in 14 days on April 6. Clubs are able to click on the AusDBF link below to register.
The event is about a celebration of dragon boating in a festival atmosphere encouraging participation rather than stringent championship racing
Where more than 5 Standard boat EOI’s and 2 Small boat EOI’s are received for 2022 CCWC, this event will be used for clubs to qualify for that event
Composite teams will be accepted for registration to encourage greater participation (Note: Clubs required to attend the event to qualify for 2022 CCWC are NOT permitted to enter composite crews)
Mixed racing gender mix will be relaxed to permit a maximum of 12 women and minimum 8 men in a crew for Standard boats and a maximum of 6 women and 4 men in a Small boat crew (Note: Clubs required to attend the event to qualify for 2022 CCWC will NOT be permitted this leniency)

Double rostering paddlers across multiple age groups is discouraged…..racing will not be held up for crew members, including steerers and drummers, to swap boats in subsequent races (Note: this will ensure an efficient flow of racing and reduce individual race fee costs for the event)

The draw will be compiled in the following format: Mixed races followed by Women, followed by Open, with BCS to be included in amongst Open racing)
Racing will be conducted across BCS, Juniors, Premier, Senior 40+ and Senior 55+ categories
